Jeep Meridian Vs Skoda Kodiaq: Detailed Comparison

  • Jeep Meridian design inspired from Grand-Cherokee

  • Kodiaq received a facelift in 2022

  • Both have 7-seat configurations

The Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq sit in a niche segment in the Indian SUV market. They are a bit smaller than the Toyota Fortuner or MG Gloster but are bigger than the likes of the Tata Safari and the Hyundai Alcazar. Even their respective pricing between the range of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh reflects it. Both feature a great design, three-row seating, feature-packed interiors, and a refined powertrain. Which new one should you go for then? Today we compare the Jeep Meridian vs Skoda Kodiaq to find out.

Jeep Meridian Vs Skoda Kodiaq: Exterior Design

While the Meridian is based on the Compass, Jeep has redesigned the entire SUV with new body panels and an extended wheelbase. In the flesh, it looks more like the bigger Jeep Grand Cherokee instead. The front end of the Meridian features the signature 7-slot grille which is flanked by slim LED headlights and DRLs while a wide chrome strip sits just above the air dam. Move to the side and you will notice the flared wheel arches, short overhangs, 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome surround above the doors, and the dual-tone roof. The squared-off rear profile offers sleek LED tail lights integrated with a chrome strip that gives the vehicle a premium look.

The Kodiaq on the other hand is a handsome SUV with an imposing road presence. Skoda gave it a mid-life facelift last year with the front end featuring slimmer LED headlights with new intricately detailed LED DRLs. The front grille has been slightly revised while lower down the bumpers are all new. The side profile of the Kodiaq has a number of strong character lines and creases, which along with the 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, help mask the sheer length of the vehicle. The rear end gets a sculpted bootlid, updated bumper, and new slimmer, sharper LED tail lights with integrated dynamic turn indicators.
