Maruti FRONX vs Brezza vs Tata Nexon: Detailed Comparison

  • FRONX looks unique in segment with coupe-like design

  • New Brezza was launched last year

  • Nexon offered in both petrol and diesel variants

Maruti Suzuki is currently playing catch up in the Indian compact SUV segment as other brands have stolen a march on them. Except the Brezza, the auto giant didn’t have any other offerings till recently. It was the introduction of the Grand Vitara that took on the midsize SUV segment and the Jimny 5-door marketed as a lifestyle purchase, the auto giant needed one more compact SUV.

Enter the new FRONX, the latest entrant in arguably the most competitive category in the current domestic market. To see how it fares, today we have this detailed comparison between the FRONX, Brezza, and Tata’s popular NEXON.

Maruti FRONX vs Brezza vs Tata Nexon: Dimensions

While based on the Baleno, the New Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets a more SUV-ish front end with a split headlight setup similar to the New Grand Vitara. It gets new bumpers at both ends, fitted with faux skid plates and 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear end offers LED tail lights with a lightbar connecting the two with the boot lid having a very high loading lip.

The Brezza, which was updated in 2022, has a more upright and boxy design. The redesign saw the compact SUV getting a new front fascia with projector headlights and LED DRLs, a front grille with a chrome bar spanning the width of the vehicle and a new bumper. The side profile stays the same while the rear end gets new tail lights, faux skid plate, and bumper.

The Nexon has the oldest design of the three. Last updated in 2020, Tata revised the SUV’s bug-eyed looks with an entirely new front end featuring sharper headlights and DRLs, a slimmer front grille, and a clamshell bonnet. The side profile features blacked out pillars for a floating-roof effect and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, you’ll notice a roof spoiler, tri-arrow pattern LED tail lights and rear bumper featuring a faux skid plate.

Maruti FRONX vs Brezza vs Tata Nexon: Interior features

While the exterior is markedly different between the two, both the Maruti FRONX and the Brezza get a very similar interior feature list. Both get the brand’s Smart Play Pro+ 9-inch infotainment system with inbuilt Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a HUD (Head Up Display), auto climate control, audio system from Arkamys, wireless phone charging, and more. The Brezza also additionally gets a sunroof and ambient lighting.
