At the recently concluded Delhi Auto Expo held
in January, British brand MG Motors launched the New 2023 Hector, giving the
SUV an updated exterior design and new features. How does the new model compare
to one of its biggest rivals, the Kia Seltos? We have penned down a detailed
comparison to find out.

MG Hector Vs Kia Seltos: Exterior Design
2023 MG Hector gets a new front fascia
featuring a new diamond-mesh grille that’s larger than before, chrome surrounds
on the air intakes, and sharper creases. The split headlights remain the same
but now get black inserts. The rest of the SUV stays largely similar to the
outgoing model except for a new rear bumper and a new red strip connecting the
LED taillights.
On the other hand, the Kia Seltos looks like a
proper SUV with its high bonnet and big LED headlights that flank the brand’s
signature Tiger Nose grille. Its bumper looks purposeful with a wide air dam
and faux skid plate. Moving to the side, you’ll notice the blacked-out
A-pillar, giving the vehicle a floating-roof effect. As for the rear it gets
wraparound tail lights with a chrome strip that spans the width of the vehicle,
a roof spoiler, and a faux skid plate.

MG Hector Vs Kia Seltos: Interior Features
MG has given the New Hector a new dashboard
design, featuring a multi-layered layout and comes covered in leatherette. The
larger AC vents are split into two sections with a chrome strip spanning the
width of the dashboard. In terms of features, the updated SUV gets a 14-inch
portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system that is the biggest in the
segment. There is also a new digital instrument cluster, i-Smart connected car
tech, a panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, and
more. The automaker has also introduced ADAS tech in the 2023 Hector.
In comparison, the Seltos’ interior still
doesn’t feel outdated. The clean, clutter free dashboard combined with white
upholstery gives an airy feeling inside the cabin. Kia’s offering also comes
loaded with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a
semi-digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, auto climate control,
sunroof, an audio setup from Bose, ventilated front seats, and more.
