Upcoming Honda cars 2022-23

The Japanese powerhouse of Honda is loved by us Indians for their reliable and fun-to-drive vehicles. Over the years the company has gone dull in the Indian market with uncertainty glooming over its continued sale in the country. But with a last ray of hope Honda India has affirmed to its commitment to offering new and excited products in the country. While there is no definite timeline of the products to be launched in the country, we have curated a list of models to expect from the country in the coming 12-24 months.

Second Generation WR-V

Based on the Amaze’s platform, the second-generation Honda WR-V is expected to offer a different exterior design. Unlike its predecessor, which could be called a bulked-up Jazz, the new generation is expected to get distinct characteristic and feels like a proper subcompact SUV.

Introduced in 2022 in the Indonesian market, it is expected to come to India in mid 2023, at an estimated price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

Sharing the same engine options from the current generation Honda City, the upcoming Honda model will offer sufficient power and torque to make it a viable option in the market. On the inside the upcoming car is expected to get the Honda Sensing Technology with the full ADAS suite from the City e:HEV.

Jazz Facelift

The Honda Jazz is Honda’s only hatchback offering in India. Overdue for an update since long, the car will finally arrive as the fourth-generation model before the end of next calendar year. The fourth generation Jazz facelift was unveiled globally at the start of 2022 and features sufficient cosmetic updates and feature additions.

The fourth generation Jazz facelift is expected to continue with the same engine options at the current model, while a strong hybrid engine may come in at a later date. Not much is known about its safety features, but it is said the car get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment system. The Jazz is a proper city commuter, best for small families.

HR-V

The HR-V is a mid-sized SUV, rivalling the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The HR-V will see its light of day in India tentatively in 2023, with an estimated price tag of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16lakh (ex-showroom). Current generation HR-V is on sale globally since the start 2021 and features a bold new design that s unlike anything we have seen from the car in the Indian market. The Honda HR-V has best safety rating globally. While the global market seems to skip ADAS, we can expect the company to introduce the model with this function when the launch nears. The HR-V is best suited for mid-sized families.

The two SUVs of this bunch seem to have the most confirmed information out of the three, with the Jazz still subjected to market viability. That aside, all the three cars are a bang for your buck, with best-in-class features and the most reliable engines.
